Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to our new website!

It has been my privilege to be Headteacher at Gladstone Primary School , now Gladstone Primary Academy, from September 2007,  having already worked at the school for 9 years as Deputy Headteacher. Gladstone Primary School was formed in September 2004 by the amalgamation of 2 very successful schools, Adderley Green Infants and Woodhouse Junior Schools.  Unfortunately, for 5 years we had to operate on 2 sites waiting for our new building to be constructed.

As you can imagine it was a very special day for us on Monday, 14th September 2009, when the doors of the new school were opened to pupils for the first time and we all came together in our fantastic ‘state of the arts’ building.

As you can imagine we are all thrilled that we have now entered a new ‘chapter’ at Gladstone having now achieved academy status as a member of the Societas Trust Multi Academy Trust. We are really excited about what the future promises to bring as part of the Trust and look forward to sharing our journey with you.’nurturing

At Gladstone we stress that as people ‘we are all equally different’ and have an exciting curriculum which develops and celebrates pupils’ gifts and talents across the whole primary curriculum. We are very proud of what we have achieved since our amalgamation and this is backed up by both Ofsted teams.

Everyone who visits Gladstone is impressed with the very special, nurturing atmosphere that exists, the behaviour and attitudes of the children and the excellent relationships that exist between school, parents and the wider community.

It is difficult on a web site to do justice to  what we believe to be a  very special school and I hope that our new website will give you a quick ‘snap shot of’  and ‘feel for’  life at Gladstone Primary. I can not imagine wanting to work anywhere else and hope that you will be able to see why!

If you have any questions please get in touch -we will be only too pleased to chat with you.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Elaine Preston
